Canelazo Desquite
When it’s cold, Bogotanos (people from Bogota) order in small coffee shops the traditional “canelazo” to warm up. This combination of aguardiente with a herbal infusion is perfect for a cozy evening at home or on the go in the middle of a busy street.

Ingredients
- 45 ml of DESQUITE AGUARDIENTE
- 5 ml of lemon or lime juice
- 15 ml of ginger and cinnamon syrup (Instructions below)
- 200 g of fresh ginger
- 100 g of brown sugar
- Cinnamon sticks
- 35 ml of tea or herbal infusion
Preparation
For the ginger and cinnamon syrup:
In a saucepan, add 100g of brown sugar, 500g of hot water, 200g of ginger, and 6g of cinnamon sticks. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, and let the mixture simmer for 30 minutes. Turn off the heat and let it cool.
For the cocktail:
- In a small cup, add the lemon juice, the ginger-cinnamon syrup, DESQUITE AGUARDIENTE, and the infusion or herbal tea.
- Stir
- Decorate with a cinnamon stick.
